Oil Doom

July 15, 2008

Oil ends at new record near $141 on supply woes. “Oil closed at a new record near $141 a barrel Tuesday on worries about tight supply and mounting tensions in the Middle East. In the U.S., prices at the gas pump edged to their highest point yet."

Scary, isn’t it? They’re saying we’ll be seeing $200 a barrel before we know it.

^ Not enough.

In 2004, the late great Kurt Vonnegut wrote a piece for In These Times called "Cold Turkey". Worth a read. In it he says:

"We are all addicts of fossil fuels in a state of denial, about to face cold turkey."

Think about it!
